Weekly Review

Friday 20th January 2017

Good afternoon Parents,

Wow what a week! How quickly that has gone. This week we have been learning about the letter N and the sound it makes, the number 12 and position such as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. We have also planted and been watching seeds grow in clear plastic gloves. We have also had a lot of fun in our Japanese Cherry blossom garden, dressing up and building castles this week.

A few reminders for next week.

On Tuesday 24th January in the morning we will be having our sports day. The event will start at 8 am and we will held in the secondary gym for the first part.  

On Friday 27th January the school will be celebrating the Chinese New Year. There will be a special assembly for this event. Please see the letter that went out yesterday for more details. The children are however invited to wear either a red top or traditional Chinese clothes to school this day.

I can't finish this email without saying get better soon Alice.  We all miss you here in KS and look forward to your return.

English
We have been looking at the letter Nn.
Practising writing and getting the sound correct when we speak. The letter is n and the sound is nnn.
We will be looking at the letter Oo.
Math
We have been investigating the number 12 and position of things e.g. 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
We have stacking cups in order and racing cars to find their position.
We will be investigating the number 13 and looking at shape names.
Science
We have been planting a variety of seeds to see the seeds start to grow.
We will be looking at seeds in fruits.
Art
We have been making sports related crafts, including a throw the hoop game and mini basketball.
We will be making Chinese lanterns and drums as part of our Chinese New Year celebrations.
Physical
We have been working on some simple breathing exercises and our fine motor skills.
This is continued.
PSD
Looking at our classroom routines and how we behave in class.
