Weekly Review and Preview Week 4

Dear Parents,

I hope you are all well. This week we have been looking at and writing words that begin with the letter T as well as camera word 'the'. We have been using numicon to help us with number bonds. We have also been learning about deserts, different types of tents and told stories around the camp fire.  

Next week we will be having our learning journey conferences between 10.20 and 11am on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This time me or Miss Maxine will give you a short presentation about some useful tips for home learning, areas the children can work on during the summer holiday. After the presentation you will have time to look and share with your child their learning journey.

Next week as part of the transition from Kindergarten to Reception we will start to phase out the nap in the afternoon. Next week we will begin with having no nap on Monday but will do so for the rest of the week. The following week it will be Monday and Tuesday. This will continue with an extra day added each week until the end of term. I would like to add if that we find the lack of a nap is having any detrimental effect we will reinstate nap time straight away.   

Over the next few weeks we will be having a theme of mermaids and pirates. This will involve a lot of arts and crafts. If you have any of the following we would be very grateful; long toilet rolls, paper egg trays, plastic bottles.

Math	We have been combining numbers together to make number bonds to 10.	We will be learning the days of the week
Science	We learned about the desert.	We will be learning about birds.
Art	We made a teepee and a campfire and had great fun sitting round it telling stories.	We will make a birds nest out of cardboard boxes and twigs and leaves.
Physical	We will be building and developing our tactile experiences.	We will continue to build on our tactile experiences.
PSD	Looking at how we fit into our classroom and school life.	Continued.
