Weekly review and preview week 10

Dear Parents,

We have had a great week. Today we had a special assembly in which the children all received a certificate and celebrated graduating Kindergarten. The children have really enjoyed Arts week and making our feathers and pebbles. They have also embraced the pirate and mermaid theme and we have had lots of fun dressing up. Along with all that fun we have made pirate boats, telescopes, we have been learning about the words long and short as well as showing off our amazing writing. 

Next week is a short but busy week. 

Monday you are invited to an end of year presentation in the SY meeting room between 8-9 am. This will be a review of the year and preview of the upcoming academic year. Please see attached document for more information.

Tuesday will be our Early Years Art Auction. You are invited to join us at 2 pm in the Secondary Years (SY) Gym. If you do wish to attend please let me know so that we can ensure we have seat for you.

Thursday we will have our class party at 2 pm.  The theme is: Under the sea, pirates or mermaids. If you could all please bring a small snack to share with friends we will provide the music. Please do dress up. I'm looking forward to seeing many a pirates, mermaids, fish, or under water sea creatures such as fish, octopus. Parents you will be most welcome to join us for this party and end of term celebration. As we say goodbye to each other for the summer holiday.

KS Weekly Update: 19th – 23rd June 2017

	This Week	Next Week
English	We have been reviewing the letters and camera words covered so far.	We will be reviewing the all the letters and sounds.
Math	We have been learning about length and the words long and short.	We will be measuring pirate equipment in blocks counting them.
Science	We made some boats and looked at how things float.	We will be looking at animals that live in the ocean.
Art	This week was Art Week. We We decorated a pebble and made a feather for the school display	We will be making treasure maps and a treasure chest.
Physical	We will be building and developing our tactile experiences.	We will continue to build on our tactile experiences.
PSD	Looking at how we fit into our classroom and school life.	We will be reflecting on the year and some of the things we have learnt and enjoyed.
