Phonics/
writing
This week we had our first phonic lessons and learn the sounds, actions and letter formation of the letters ‘Cc’ and ‘Tt’. We painted both letters and played a game with the purpose of matching the initial sound starting in ‘c’ and ‘t’with various objects.
Next week, our phonic lessons will focus on learning the sounds, actions and letter formation of the letters ‘Gg’ and ‘Pp’. We will play a review game at the end of the week to review both sounds ‘G’ and ‘P’.
Math
This week practiced number formation.
Next week, we will focus on recognizing umbers from 1-10, counting from 1-20 and matching numeral to quantity.
PSED
We talked about kindness. How can we be kind to each other and what is kindness.
Next week, we will talk about smiling. How does it feel to smile? How does it feel when someone smiles at us? Why do we smile?
Science
This week the children were introduced to the sense of ‘sight’. We played various activities exploring the difference aspect of light through: shadow play and blindfolded activities. We also discussed the function of our sense of ‘sight’ and form. How eyes look? Colors, shape, characteristics and so on.
Next week, we will review our sense of touch and sight and explore our sense of ‘Taste’. We will focus on vocabulary words and description of each sensation: sweet – salty – sour- bitter-cold-hot- spicy.
 Art, science and physical will all be linked to each other through various activities exploring our sense of ‘taste’:

·        Taste of water: soda water, hot/cold/filtered/mineral waters.

·        Taste of sweet /salty

·        Taste of sour / bitter

·        How does it feel when it is cold? Hot?

Art
In Art this week d to link our science lessons with our Art lesson. For our first Art lesson we had a fun painting activity and painted blindfolded. This activity was a fantastic way to explore and develop our senses. Without using our eyes how can we see? Image? Recognize? For our second lesson we played a vision game by looking at images with optical illusions. This was linked to the making of binoculars.
Physical
We had a shadow play activity using the projector inside the classroom and exploring different objects to see what shadow and color they make.
