writing
|
This week we reviewed all
letter sounds learned so far through the theme of the Rainbow fish. We had an ice writing and rice tracing
activity review all letters learned.

Next week, we will be introduced to 6 camera
words (tricky words)I-to-go-no-he-the.

Math
|
This week we learned about
patterns.
How
many ways can we make a pattern? How can we describe a pattern?
Can we make number patterns? Letter patterns? Can you make
a pattern with many colors? One 1 color? Different shapes? Different sizes?
|
Next week, we will be introduced
to the concept of one more/one less or a lot more/ a little bit less.

PSED
|
This week we our
PSED lesson is linked to the Rainbow in understanding the importance of
friendship and what makes a good friendship.
|
Next week, We will
be reviewing all of the senses learned so far: taste-touch-smell-sight and be
introduced to the sense of hearing. We will explore various materials and
describe the sounds they each make. We will be listening to sounds and try to
guess what they are. These would be the questions asked by the children throughout
the week:
How
do you hear? With your ears? How many ears do you have? Where are they? How
do they look like? Their sizes? Colors? What happens when you hear? Do you
hear inside? Outside your ears? What sounds can you hear? Loud? Quiet? Sharp?
soft?
The
PSED lesson will be linked to the sense of hearing and the children will be learning
about ‘listening’. To include Art will be making a flute.

Science
|
All of the
non-core subjects are being combined. The first lesson of the week was the
introduction to the book The Rainbow fish followed by an art activity. We then
had the visit of Ann Byrant the author of numerous children’s books coming to
our school to read us stories. This week has been filled with fun activities
based on the theme of the Rainbow fish. We learned about fish and had a
science experiment making bubbles with water and soap. We made rainbow fish with
play dough and finish our book week with a class party.
