RE Weekly Update: October 30th to November

Phonics/
writing
|
This week we reviewed all of
the sounds learned so far (s-m-c-t-g-p-a-o).
We learned how to separate each sound (segment) and put them together
(blend) to make a 3 letter sound word (CVC word). Ex: tap-mop-top-cop-sat-map
|
Next week we will be learned 2 letter sounds 'Bb and Dd'.

Math
|
This week, we reviewed 2D shapes and were introduced to the
concept of ’flat’ 2D shape and ‘solid’ 3D shape.
|
Next week, we will be working
on one to one correspondence by playing various games estimating amounts of
objects and matching each amount to the correct number only from 1-10.
|
PSED
|
This week we began
a new unit focusing on exploring different ways to tear paper and making
various shapes. We worked on fine
motor skills in tearing paper.
In PSED we talked
about taking good care of our school property.
|
Next week, we will
be introduced to a new Art skill that can be quiet challenging for young
children. We will learn how to ‘weave’ using various materials and
techniques.

Parents: To help
us with our new topic could you ask your child to collect recyclables and
bring them to school throughout the next half term. Thank you.
Recyclables:
toilet paper rolls, boxes, wooden sticks, plastic bottles etc.
Snack: candies, jellies,
sweets are only allowed for birthdays, thank you.
No hat no play policy
Golden time
Please remember to
bring a toy for golden time on Fridays.
Thank you.
Book borrowing: next week your child will begin borrowing a
book from our library. Please remember to return it before the following Thursday.
