Next half term

Phonics/
writing
|
This week we learned the
letter sounds ‘Bb and Dd’ and focused on letter formation. Often children
confused the letter b and the letter d together. To provide extra support we
specifically focused on these two letters during our writing lesson.
|
Next week we will continue blending 3 letter
sound words (CVC) and focus on the letter sound ‘Ll’ and ‘Rr’.

Math
|
This week, we learned about
length and height using the words ‘long and short’ ‘tall and short’; then to
compare objects and each other’s height we focused on the words: shorter or
longer, taller or shorter.
|
Next week, we will be working
on one to one correspondence by playing various games estimating amounts of
objects and matching each amount to the correct numbers from 1-10.

PSED
|
This week we were introduced
to a new Art skill that can be quiet challenging for young children. We will
learn how to ‘weave’ using various materials and techniques. Weaving helps developing fine motor skills,
eye and hand coordination, hand grip, physical expansion of spatial concept
of up and over and help children finding a dominant hand.
|
Next week, we will
be talking about line drawing. Each lesson will have a focus on a type of
line

lesson 4: zigzag

us with our new topic could you ask your child to collect recyclables and
bring them to school throughout the next half term. Thank you.
Recyclables:
toilet paper rolls, boxes, wooden sticks, plastic bottles etc.
Snack: candies, jellies,
sweets are only allowed for birthdays, thank you.
No hat no play policy
Golden time
Please remember to
bring a toy for golden time on Fridays.

Book borrowing: next week your child will begin borrowing a
book from our library. Please remember to return it before the following Thursday.
