For International week we will be learning about people that live in Kenya and focused on the 'Masai tribe'.
We will learn about the traditional homes of 'house mud' and look at the life of Kenyan people and about traditional Kenyan dishes and make a fruit salad following a Kenyan recipe.
We will link African dance and traditional fabric prints to our unit of inquiry about 'Patterns' to deepen our understanding that patterns is in music (African music), in fabric, in movement (African dance), in nature to finalize our understanding and conclude that 'the world is made of patterns'.

Traditional Massai outfit:
You can use fabric like this picture with pattern motifs:

red dress/ red pants/ red skirts
red tops (any tops)

shoes: sandals (optional)
Ornament:
We will be making a Massai necklace in class for our costume.
