This
week, we continued to work on unit 3 letter sounds and 3 letter sounds word
and we focused on the sounds ‘Jj’ and ‘Kk’.

Next week, we will
continue to work on unit 3 letter sounds and 3 letter sounds word and we will
focus on the sounds ‘Yy’ and ‘Zz’.

Math
|
This
week we looked at 1 more/ 1 less or 2 more / 2 less.
|
Next
week, we will introduce the math concept of doubling. For example: 1 and 1 is
2, 2 and 2 is 4, 7 and 7 is 14 etc.

Inquiry
|
This
week we explored patterns
in sounds and discovered that music is made of patterns.
|
Next
week we will explore that patterns can be found in nature such as on a
caterpillars, or on a snake, or on flowers. There are many types of patterns
such as:
linear patterns: snake, caterpillar
These
types of patterns are more difficult for children to see and recognize:
circular patterns: in flowers, kiwi, citrus
fruits.
symmetrical patterns: butterfly wings, bugs.
