RE Weekly Update: February 26th

Phonics/
writing
|
This
week, we reviewed the camera
words of unit 3. Practiced writing the camera words and played with them to
try to make simple sentences using them.
|
Next
week, we will review all letter sounds and learn 2 new camera words ‘little
and have’. We will focus on the new sound ‘ll’ and practice writing words and
simple sentences during our writing lessons.

Math
|
This
week, the children were introduced to the concept of ‘subtraction’, which
means to take away things.
|
Next
week, we will talk about ‘positional language’, words that describe where
things are. For example: under, on top, inside, outside, to the left, to the
right etc.
|

Inquiry
|
This week, we
continued our cycle of inquiry and were introduced to the life cycle of a
butterfly. We linked our understanding of patterns by finding out that life
cycles repeats over time.
|
Next week, we will
continue learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We will deepen our
understanding by looking at the symmetry and connection of caterpillars with
butterflies and ask ourselves: Why some caterpillars look different? Do
butterflies look different from each other? Ultimately we will discover that
depending on the color of the caterpillar the butterfly will look a certain
way, some can be blue, some can be yellow and red etc.

Wednesday March 7th: Early Years sports’ Day!
Miss. Myshi will be away on a
professional course all of next week.
Reception school trip: out school
trip this term will be on Monday March 26th. We will be going to
Ocean World. A letter will be send home shortly with more details. Please
save the date so you can come join us!
