This week, we reviewed tricky sounds and teachers have assessed all
students on their letter sounds and camera words.
|
Next term, we
will keep reviewing sounds and tricky sounds. We will focus on segmenting and
blending (reading 3 letter sound words) and keep on learning 2 new camera
words per week. The first week back will focus on reviewing all camera words
learned so far.

|
Math
|
This week, we reviewed
numbers from 1 to 20. We practiced writing all numbers by making 20 scoops of
ice cream! We reviewed putting all numbers in order, counting from 1 to 20
and recognizing all numbers.
|
Next term, we
will focus on numbers, problem solving, 2D and 3 D shapes and vocabulary to
compare and describe weight, length, height and measuring.
|
|
Inquiry
|
This week, we
revised all patterns and life cycles and tried to expand our thinking by
asking ourselves how we can apply the
life cycles we have learned to other animals. Can we guess the life cycle of
a snake? Of a dog? What about a fish?
|
Next term, we will
start a new cycle of inquiry based on the theme of Peace.
-We will first
assess our understanding on emotions and how we feel
- we will then
look at 4 main emotions such as: joy, fear, anger and sadness.
we
will link our emotions and moods to color and create a visual picture for our
emotions.
- we will then
look at our behavior when we feel a certain way, how we express ourselves physically,
our voice changes? Our body moves differently? Our face expression?
-We will then look
at the way we treat and behavior with others, do we treat others with
kindness? Patience? Respect?
- we will then
expand our thinking and explore the concept of peace how we can treat others
with kindness and understand that our actions affect others
- it is our choice
that shows if we decide peace or frustration/sadness/anger.
