RE Weekly Update: April 23rd to April 27th, 2018

                                                                    

	This week	Next week
Phonics/ writing	This week, we revised all letter sounds and camera words learned last term.	Next week, we will be revising all sounds and learn 2 new camera words. We will focus on the sound ‘sh’ and learned words based on the sound such as the words: shop, ship, shush etc.
Math	This week, we played estimating games and reviewed all the numbers from 1 to 20. We practiced counting and also learned how to keep a record of our estimation by writing our ‘estimations’ on paper.	Next week, we will be revising the concept of 1 more / 1 less and 2 more / 2 less using number lines from 1 to 20.
Inquiry	This week, we tuned in to our new cycle of inquiry and looked at all the different emotions we sometimes feel. These first 2 weeks are about finding out how much we know about our feelings.	Next week, we will continue to explore all the different feelings by reading the story ‘The Color Monster’. We will base our unit of inquiry on this book to explore all the different emotions. I suggest you watch the video of the story to familiarize yourself with this wonderful book. This way you can support your child at home and review what has been learned at school.
