It is through the understanding of our emotions than we can transition to peace.
Our feelings help us protect ourselves from being hurt.
Why do we feel Joy or happiness?
Why do we feel sadness or anger? Why are we scared? Is an emotion always there? does it change?
To truly understand and find peace within ourselves we need to understand and overcome our emotions.
The emotion for this week is 'Happiness'
What words express happiness to you?
Joy Happy excited silly fun funny awesome Fantastic Great
You may read this poem below to your child at bedtime and ask him/her what words in the poem is talking about joy? of happiness?
Physically, How do we express the feeling of joy? we smile? laugh? want to jump? dance? sing? hug? kiss?
Auditory: What can we listen that makes us feel joy?laughter? music? certain sounds?
What about visually? What do we see that makes us feel happy? people? places? faces? objects? colors? Art?
This week we looked at the emotion of joy through these 3 areas of learning.
I encourage you to ask your child and ask the same questions at home and see what they understand about the feeling of joy.
The aim is to understand that joy is often felt when being with others. When sharing our time together and being with others we feel true joy and happiness.
True Happiness is when we are surrounded by who we love and stay open minded about others.
