Phonics/
writing
|
This week we focused on
learning the sounds, actions and letter formation of the letters ‘Aa’ and
‘Oo’. For our last lesson we reviewed all sounds cover so far:
‘s-m-c-t-g-p-a-o.

Next week we will review all letter sounds
learned so far through the theme of the Rainbow fish. We will have an ice writing and rice tracing
activity.

Math
|
This week we
explored vocabulary words we use to talk about time. We also looked at the
concept of time, what we do during day time and nighttime. (morning-afternoon-evening-day/night
etc.)
|
Next week, we will learn
about patterns. How many ways can we
make a pattern? How can we describe a pattern?
Can
we make number patterns?
|

PSED
|
This week we talked
about words we use. What are kind words and what words can hurt others’
feelings.
|
Next week, all
subjects will be combined. The first lesson of the week will be the
introduction to the book The Rainbow fish followed by an art activity. We
will have a guest speaker Ann Byrant coming to our school to read a story to
primary and early years students. The week will be filled with fun activities
based on the theme of the Rainbow fish. We will be painting with bubbles,
playing with play dough making rainbow fish and finish our book week with a
class party.

Science
|
This week we
reviewed our sense of touch, sight and taste and explore our sense of
‘Smell’. We focused on these vocabulary words: good smells/bad smells,
flowery, fruity, smoky/burnt, dusty, rotten, cheesy, strong etc.
We made perfumes
and also made cookies using icing with cinnamon and chocolate chip just for
the taste!
