RE Weekly Update: May 14th to May 18th, 2018

                                                                    

	This week	Next week
Phonics/ writing	This week, we revised all sounds and focused on the new sound ‘ch’. We compared the sound ‘sh’(long sound) and ‘ch’(short sound) and blended words such as: chop, chip, chat, chap etc. We also learned 2 new camera words: one-out.	Next week, we will focus on the sound ’th’ and learn new 3 letter sound words for example: the, that, then, thing, Thursday, think, thinker, thinking etc. Let’s see what the children can come up with? We will learn 2 new camera words: what – why.
Math	This week, we revised the skills of comparing and measuring.	Next week, we will review 2D shapes and 3D shapes.
Inquiry	This week, we looked into the emotion of ‘Happiness’ and based our exploration on the book the Color Monster. We explored this emotion through 3 key areas; Visual, Auditory and physical.	Next week, we will explore the emotions of sadness and anger. We will look at how we transition from an emotion to another and how to go pass them to find peace.
