Second week in reception...

This week children were introduced with our topic for this half term on the exploration of our 5 senses. This week we are focusing on the sense of 'Touch" encouraging their children to develop their sense of touch and describing what they feel. How does it feel like? Is it soft? smooth? spiky? warm? cold?

Weekend Activity:

Here is an activity you can do with your child at home:
You can have them make little boxes and play a guessing game. Ask your child to close their eyes or have something to cover their eyes and ask them How does it feel? what texture is it?
Is it soft? sticky? cold?
Version 2: You can do the same activity using liquids. EX: jam, oil, water, salt, beans, rice etc.
