writing
|
This week we focused on
learning the sounds, actions and letter formation of the letters ‘Gg’ and
‘Pp’. We played a game at the end of the week to review both sounds ‘Gg’ and
‘Pp’.

Next week, we will focus on
learning the sounds, actions and letter formation of the letters ‘Aa’ and
‘Oo’. We will play games at the end of the to review all sounds cover so far
‘s-m-c-t-g-p-a-o.

Math
|
This week focused
on recognizing umbers from 1-10, counting from 1-20 and matching numeral to
quantity.
|
Next week, we
will explore language we use to talk about time. We will also look at the
concept of time, what we do during day time and nighttime.
(morning-afternoon-evening-day/night etc.)

PSED
|
This week we
talked about smiling. How does it feel to smile? How does it feel when
someone smiles at us? Why do we smile? When do you smile?
|
Next week, we will
talk about communicating. How do you share ideas; to speak what is on your
mind etc.
|

Science
|
This week we
reviewed our sense of touch and sight and explore our sense of ‘Taste’. We
focused on vocabulary words and description of each sensation: sweet – salty
– sour- bitter-cold-hot- spicy.
Art, science and physical will all be linked
to each other through various activities exploring our sense of ‘taste’:

Taste of water:
soda water, hot/cold/filtered/mineral waters.

Taste of sweet /salty
·
Taste of sour / bitter
·
How does it feel when it is
cold? Hot?

Next week, we will
review our sense of touch, sight and taste and explore our sense of ‘Smell’.
We will focus on these vocabulary words: good smells/bad smells, flowery,
fruity, smoky/burnt, dusty, rotten, cheesy, strong etc.
Art, science and physical will all be linked
to each other through various activities exploring our sense of ‘smell’.

Book week: October 2nd -6th:
we will be learning about ‘The Rainbow Fish’ and have a costume party on
Friday 6th. You may start thinking about the costume for your
child. Here is the story and ideas:

Golden time
Please remember to bring a toy for golden time on Fridays. Thank you.
Book borrowing: next week your child will begin borrowing a book from our
library. Please remember to return it before the following Thursday.
