Next term

Phonics/
writing
This week, we reviewed all letters learned in term 1.
Next week, we will begin unit 3 and focus on the letter sounds ‘e’ and ‘n’. We will also introduce 2 new camera words ‘you’ and ‘are’ and practice blending new 3 letter sound words.
Math
This week we deepen our understanding of height and length by learning how to measure objects by using a ruler.
Next week, we will work no ‘estimating’ amounts of objects to review number quantity and number recognition. This is a very fun game you can play with your child. You can ask your child to ‘guess’ how many cookies are on their plate? How many pencils are in the jar?
Inquiry
This week we tuning in to our next unit on understanding ‘How the World Works’.
central idea: Patterns help us understand how the World Works’.
lines of inquiry:
   Defining patterns
   Creating patterns
   Uses of patterns

This week is focusing on finding and creating patterns with objects around us:
