Phonics/
writing
This week, we revised the camera words ‘to’ and ‘I’ and practiced reading 3 letter sound words in the ending sound –at. For example, cat, sat, fat, mat, pat etc.
Next week, we will revise the camera words ‘to’ and ‘the’ and focus on the ending sounds –ot. We will focus on the ending sound to recognize the patterns in words: cot-tot-pot-got-dot-lot-spot-hot etc.
Math
This week, we played addition games and begin to understand the concept of writing simple equations using the ‘+’ and ‘equal’ sign.
Next week, we will review 2D and 3D shapes.
Inquiry
This week, we transitioned to a core value on peace which is ‘cooperation’. We learned that by working together we create peace and learn how to be with others.
Next week, we will look into the attitude of ‘respect’. By respecting ourselves and others we create peace within ourselves and with others.
Notices and Events
·         Reception field trip to the Children’s Museum this coming Thursday June 7th.   We all look forward to our final trip.

Please remember to bring:
·         Backpack with: a change of clothes and swimming wear (swimming wear and towel, plastic bag (wet swimming wear))
·         Water bottle (optional)
·         Snack, water and lunch will be provided
           Please arrive at school at 7:30am for register, school trip safety rules revision and departure preparation. Thank you

9.45 - Arrive at Children’s Museum (Snack on the bus)
10.00 - 11.30 Tour and activities
11.45 - 12.45 Lunch
13.00 - Toilet & Ready to depart (snack on the bus)
14.00 - Arrive to School

·         Next week reception will start having lunch in the primary canteen on Fridays to help them transition for year 1 next year. They will be asked to serve themselves for food and water and eat with their new year 1 teacher at their designated tables.
·         You can help them by talking to them at home about the transition to year 1.
